Supporting Mental Health in West St. Paul

The West St. Paul Police Department is proud to share information about our Mental Health Unit, a collaborative effort with Dakota County Social Services. This partnership ensures that residents receive compassionate and timely support during mental health crises.

Our dedicated mental health officer, Greg Altman, works alongside two embedded Dakota County social workers: Stephanie Robinson, a crisis social worker, and Albert Vargas, a social worker specializing in ongoing support. Together, this team provides assistance during emergencies and connects individuals with resources for long-term care.

If you or someone you know needs help or would like more information, please contact our team at 651-552-4200.

You can also call:

  • Dakota County Crisis Response Unit: 951-891-7171
  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: Dial 988

Your mental health matters. We’re here to help.
