FENCE PERMIT
A zoning permit is required for the construction of all fences. Submit the permit application along with a certificate of survey and details depicting the proposed location(s) of the fence. Homeowners are required to verify the location of property lines prior to installation, more information regarding property lines can be found in the property lines summary handout. Property data can be found at Dakota County GIS.

TEMPORARY SIGN
All temporary signs require a temporary sign permit. Temporary signs must adhere to section 150.110 of the city ordinance.

ACCESSORY BUILDINGS (under 200 sq ft)
A building permit is required for accessory buildings 200 square feet or larger. A building permit is not required for accessory buildings less than 200 square feet, however, all applicable codes regarding accessory buildings must be followed. Submit the zoning permit application along with 1 copy of the site plan depicting the proposed location, dimensions, and setbacks of the structure.

PLATFORM/DECK
Decks and platforms not more than 30 inches above grade and not attached to a structure with frost footings and which are not part of an accessible route are exempt.

ABOVE GROUND POOL
Above-ground pools that are not temporary soft-side pools that are removed for winter. Submit the zoning permit application along with 1 copy of the site plan depicting the proposed location, dimensions, and setbacks of the pool.
